EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -Manny Ubilla scored 24 points, and Fairleigh Dickinson handed Mount St. Mary's its first Northeast Conference loss, 65-62 on Saturday.

Sean Baptiste added 14 points, Bernell Murray had 11 and Erik Hazard had 10 for the Knights (5-7, 1-1 NEC), who shot just 35.4 percent from the field but made it to the free-throw line 32 times, making 21 attempts.

Chris Vann led the Mountaineers (7-7, 3-1) with 15 points, and Sam Atupem added 12.

Fairleigh Dickinson led 24-21 at halftime after an ugly first 20 minutes in which neither team shot over 30 percent from the field.

The Mount went ahead 32-30 on a jumper by Atupem with 14:24 remaining, but the Knights responded with a 9-4 run, taking the lead for good on a 3-pointer by Hazard with 11:25 left.

The Mount cut the deficit to 48-47 with 3:34 remaining when Vann hit a pair of free throws. Ubilla responded by scoring the next five points, including a 3-pointer at the 3-minute mark, to extend the Knights' lead to 53-47. Fairleigh Dickinson held on from there.

Ubilla went 6-for-12 from the field and hit five of his nine 3-point attempts.
