VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) -Carlos Strong came off the bench with 17 points, helping sixth-seeded Boston University to a 68-64 overtime win over Albany, N.Y., Saturday.

With the win, Boston advances to the semifinals of the America East Tournament, where it will face No. 2 Hartford in the second game of Sunday's semifinal double-header.

Albany's John Iati forced overtime with a long 3-pointer with 9.9 seconds left in regulation. Corey Lowe then opened the overtime with two straight baskets and the Terriers (14-16) never trailed in the extra session.

The Great Danes (15-15) went 9-for-13 from the field to start the game but scored only six field goals over the final 32:23. They were kept alive on the foul line, going 28-for-39 as Boston was whistled for 31 fouls.

Strong hit a short jumper to make it 64-60 with 58.7 seconds left in overtime and then stuffed an attempt by Josh Martin the final seconds.

John Holland scored 14 of his 16 points after halftime and added eight rebounds for BU, while Lowe had 11 points and seven rebounds before fouling out in overtime.

Brian Lillis led Albany with 24 points, and Iati had 16.
