BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) -Amir Johnson had a career-high 26 points, and Kenny Thomas scored 11 of his 24 points after regulation to lead Radford to a foul-plagued 100-97 double overtime win over Gardner-Webb on Monday night.
Sixty-five fouls were called and 100 free throws attempted. Gardner-Webb struggled at the line, hitting 29 of its 51 attempts. Radford (3-6) hit 36 of its 49 free throws, and Johnson hit all ten he attempted.
Six players fouled out, and Radford's Martell McDuffy was ejected after picking up two technical fouls.
Jamar Jenkins hit a 3-pointer and Eric Hall got two free throws in the second overtime to give Radford a five-point lead.
Gardner-Webb's Takayo Siddle responded with a bucket, but Thomas added a single free throw to push the lead back to three. The Bulldogs' Aaron Linn missed three shots in the final 13 seconds that would have tied the score.
Thomas Sanders led Gardner-Webb with 21 points and 15 rebounds before fouling out early in the second overtime. Linn and Grayson Flittner scored 20 points each for the Bulldogs, while Matt French had 12 and Siddle 11.
