PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -Mark McAndrew scored 19 points as Brown defeated the University of New Hampshire 68-52 Thursday night.

McAndrew scored three 3-point shots and moved into ninth place on Brown?s all-time list with 118 3-point baskets.

Alvin Abreu paced the Wildcats (3-5), who?ve lost four in a row, with 14 points while Mike Christensen and Tyrece Gibbs added 10 points apiece.

Brown (5-3) broke the game open early by building a 20-2 lead in the first eight minutes and never trailed. McAndrew keyed the surge by scoring eight points, including six on a pair of 3-pointers. The Bears held New Hampshire to only one basket in the first 13 1/2 minutes.

Brown led 33-18 at halftime and increased its lead to as many as 19 points (44-25) on a layup by Adrian Williams with 12:50 left in the game.

New Hampshire drew within 12 points on three occasions, the last at 56-44 on Gibbs' 3-pointer with 5:20 left.

Brown shot 52.4 per cent (22-for-42) from the floor, compared with 34 per cent (18-for-53) for New Hampshire.
