SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -Garfield Blair scored 20 points and had nine rebounds to lead Stetson past Savannah State 70-62 Thursday night.
Tim Lang, Mark Lohuis and Kris Thomas each added 11 points for the Hatters (3-8), who took control in the latter part of the first half and never trailed again.
Savannah State (6-10) led 17-15 with 9:21 left in the half, but two foul shots and a jumper by Thomas and a 3-pointer and a jump shot by Lohuis converted that into a 24-17 Stetson lead.
The Hatters led 33-23 at intermission and stretched it to 15 points, 53-38, with 11:08 left after two straight 3-pointers by Lang.
The Tigers cut the lead to 57-52 on two foul shots by Patrick Hardy with three minutes remaining, but could get no closer.
Curtis Brown led Savannah State with 14 points. Lazarius Coleman had 11 points and eight rebounds, and Rod Mitchell 8 points and 9 rebounds.
