EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) -Gabriel Moore scored 22 points as Indiana State rallied from a one-point halftime deficit to beat the University of Evansville 70-56 Saturday night.

Moore made 8 of 13 field goals and 2 of 5 3-pointers to lead the Sycamores. Marico Stinson and Todd McCoy both added 13 points, and Isiah Martin chipped in 10, as Indiana State (6-5, 1-0) won the Missouri Valley Conference opener for both teams.

Jason Holsinger scored 17 points to lead Evansville (5-6, 0-1), and Pieter van Tongeren added 13 as the only other player to score in double figures.

The two teams stayed within three points of each other through most of the first half, with both shooting below 50 percent from the field. The Purple Aces stayed in a slump during the second half, making 11 of 34 shots.

But Indiana State rallied to hit 56 percent of its second-half field goals. The Sycamores also made 4 of 7 3-pointers.
