TROY, Ala. (AP) -Tyrone Brazelton scored 29 points and Courtney Lee added 17, with go-ahead baskets in the final seconds, to lead Western Kentucky over Troy 94-90 on Saturday.
Brazelton had 24 points in the opening period of play on 8-of-10 shooting. Lee put WKU (8-4, 1-0) on top 90-88, with a runner in the lane with 45 seconds remaining. Lee then hit four shots from the free throw line to seal the win.
O'Darien Bassett scored career-high 36 points for Troy, but the Trojans could not overcome a large second-half deficit.
The Hilltoppers raced out to an early 8-0 lead on two consecutive 3-pointers from Brazelton. Brazelton finished the first half 8-of-9 from behind the arc with 24.
