LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) -David Dees scored 17 points as Louisiana-Lafayette improved to 3-0 in the Sun Belt Conference with a 73-63 win over Arkansas State on Thursday.

Dees went 6-of-7 from the field, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Elijah Millsap chipped in 16 points and Randell Daigle added 14 more.

Arkansas State (6-7, 1-2) was led by Adrian Banks' game-high 20 points. Ryan Wedel added 15, and Yima Chia-Kur had 13.

Louisiana-Lafayette (6-7, 3-0) had a six-point lead, 40-34, to start the second half before the Indians engineered a 9-0 run, taking a 43-40 edge. But, Travis Bureau buried a running 3-pointer for Louisiana-Lafayette to provide the equalizer at 43-43.

With 9:03 remaining, the Indians used a 7-0 run to regain the lead, 55-51, but Dees snapped that spurt with a dunk to cut the deficit to 55-53.

Banks extended the Indians' lead to four, 59-55, but the Cajuns chipped away until Dees rebounded a Shawn Morgan miss and finished with a 3-pointer to give them a 63-59 lead. From there, Louisiana-Lafayette outscored Arkansas State 10-4 down the strech for the 10-point victory.
