CHENEY, Wash. (AP) -Kyle Landry scored 22 points and sank a pair of late free throws to help Northern Arizona hold off Eastern Washington 79-75 on Thursday night.
Josh Wilson added 14 points for the Lumberjacks (10-5, 2-0 Big Sky Conference), who won for the sixth time in seven games. Milan Stanojevic led the Eagles (6-10, 1-1) with 21 points, making five 3-pointers.
After Landry hit 1-of-2 from the free-throw line with 1:02 left to give Northern Arizona a 78-72 lead, Gary Gibson made a 3-pointer from the corner to pull Eastern Washington to within 78-75 with 47.9 seconds left.
After a Lumberjacks' miss at the end of the shot clock, Landry rebounded and was fouled with 7.5 seconds left. He again hit 1-of-2 to seal the triumph.
Landry finished 7-of-9 from the floor and also had seven rebounds and three steals for Northern Arizona, which never trailed in the game and led by as many as 20 points. Zach Filzen had 12 points for the Lumberjacks.
The Eagles trailed 10-0 to start the game, but pulled to within six points with six minutes left on Stanojevic's 3-pointer.
Adris DeLeon scored 15 points and Gibson and Kellen Williams tallied 11 points apiece for Eastern Washington.
