Wis.-Green Bay 52, Wright St. 49

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -Ryan Tillema had 17 points and five rebounds to lead Wisconsin-Green Bay to a 52-49 win over defending Horizon League champion Wright State on Saturday night.

Todd Brown had a game-high 24 points and six rebounds for the Raiders (8-5 overall, 1-3), who dropped their second straight league road game after winning their previous five overall.

The Phoenix (9-5, 3-1) held off three Raiders' chances to take the lead or tie the game in the final seconds. With Green Bay leading 50-49, Brown turned the ball over on an errant pass with 9.6 seconds left.

Then after a pair of Mike Schachtner free throws gave the Phoenix a three-point edge with 8.6 seconds left, the Raiders got a pair of 3-point attempts to tie the game.

But Cooper Land's first shot was blocked by Cordero Barkley and then Troy Tabler's desperation heave at the buzzer glanced off the rim.

Both teams struggled from the field in the first half as Green Bay forged a 23-21 halftime team despite shooting just 6-of-21 (28.6 percent).

The second half was nip-and-tuck throughout, as Green Bay largest lead was six. Then Wright State used a 9-0 run to take a 45-42 lead with 4:46 left before the Phoenix outscored the Raiders 10-4 the rest of the way.

Randy Berry and Schachtner had eight points apiece for Green Bay, which snapped a four-game losing streak against Wright State and improved to 6-0 at home this season.

Scottie Wilson had eight points for Wright State, which was shorthanded after starting guard and second-leading scorer Vaughn Duggins left the game with a sprained foot early in the first half.
