HOUSTON (AP) -Matthew Miller scored 23 points to lead Texas Southern to a come-from-behind 81-75 win over Alcorn State in the Southwestern Athletic Conference opener for both teams Saturday night.

Miller was 7-of-13 from the field, including 4-of-6 on 3-pointers. Sollie Norwood scored 18 points, and David Burrell added 17 for the Tigers (2-12).

Alex Owumi led all scorers with 28 points and nine rebounds, but it wasn't enough for Alcorn State (1-13) to notch its second win of the season. Kendrick James and Troy Jackson had 13 apiece for the Braves.

Alcorn State took a 37-31 lead at halftime but was outscored 50-38 in the second half.
