BALTIMORE (AP) -Gerald Brown had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Loyola of Maryland snapped a three-game losing streak with a 63-51 victory over Iona on Sunday.
Brian Rudolph scored a career-high 12 points and Michael Tuck added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Greyhounds (6-8, 2-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who improved to 5-1 at home despite 26 turnovers. Six of Tuck's points came in a 22-5 Loyola run that opened the second half and erased Iona's 25-22 halftime lead.
Milan Prodanovic led the Gaels (5-11, 1-3) with 10 points. Iona was outrebounded 44-26.
Loyola, which missed 20 of 27 shots in the first half, connected on 10 of 13 to open the second half. Marquis Johnson's left-wing 3-pointer put Loyola ahead for good, 26-25, with 18:22 left and Tuck's layup, off a length-of-the-lane bounce pass by Dan Ficke, made it 44-30 with 9:43 to go.
Iona whittled a 16-point deficit down to 56-49 on a Kevin Hassett 3-pointer with 1:31 remaining, but Rudolph hit five of six free throws down the stretch.
The Gaels scored 11 points off 13 Greyhound turnovers during the opening 20 minutes and Prodanovic's layup off a giveaway capped an 11-1 run late in the first half.
