NEW YORK (AP) -Ryon Howard scored 17 points and Chauncey Hardy had 16 to lead Sacred Heart to a 75-68 victory over Long Island University on Monday night.
Brice Brooks added 11 points for the Pioneers (6-9, 3-1 Northeast Conference).
Jaytonah Wisseh scored 21 points for the Blackbirds (9-5, 1-2), while Eugene Kotorobai had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Hardy's 3-pointer with 13:41 to play gave Sacred Heart a 47-38 lead. LIU went on an 8-0 run capped by Wisseh's 3 with 10:50 to go.
Hardy then scored half the points in a 12-2 run that put the Pioneers ahead 59-48 with 7:22 left. LIU got as close as 61-59 on a jumper by Ron Manigault with 3:43 to play, Sacred Heart pulled away by scoring eight straight points.
