EASTON, Pa. (AP) -Bilal Abdullah scored 14 points and Matt Betley and Andrew Brown each added 13 to lead Lafayette to a 60-52 win over Holy Cross in the Patriot League opener for both teams Saturday.

Lafayette (10-6) won its league opener for the first time since the 2004-05 season and posted its first conference opening victory over Holy Cross since the league was founded in 1990-91.

Andrew Beinert scored 15 points, Colin Cunningham 12 and Tim Clifford 11 for Holy Cross (9-5), which shot 16-for-47 (34 percent) from the field in the game.

Adam May hit two free throws and pulled Holy Cross within 53-52 late in the second half. Betley countered with a 3-pointer to break the game open.

Lafayette shot 4-for-4 from the line in the last 20 seconds to seal the win.
