WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) -DeMario Anderson scored 24 points and pulled down eight rebounds - both game-highs - to lead Quinnipiac to a 71-58 win over Monmouth on Saturday night.

The two teams traded baskets for most of the first half, with Quinnipiac grabbing a 36-34 lead at the break. The Bobcats then opened the second half with a 13-5 run, but Monmouth rallied with a 10-1 run of its own to cut the lead to 50-49 with 8:38 left.

Quinnipiac, though, then took control by scoring eight straight points, part of a 19-7 run that gave them the victory.

The Bobcats also won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Hawks 29-24.
