WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -Morgan Sabia had 14 points and seven rebounds to lead Hartford to a 66-57 win over Boston University on Saturday night.
The Hawks (8-9, 2-0 America East) led by as many as 16, 44-28 on a layup by junior Jaret Von Rosenberg, with 15:44 to play in the game.
The Terriers (4-11, 1-2) pulled within five in the final minute, but Hartford closed out the game by making 7-of-8 from the line in the final 47 seconds.
Corey Lowe scored a game-high 20 points to lead Boston University while John Holland scored 11 points and grabbed a career-best 12 rebounds.
BU outrebounded Hartford 40-33, but shot just 2-of-27 from 3-point range and turned the ball over 23 times.
Trailing 14-13 with 9:37 remaining in the first half, Hartford took control with an 8-0 run and never trailed again. Hartford closed the half with a 9-3 run to take a 31-23 halftime lead.
Hartford went on an 11-0 run early in the second half to go ahead 44-28.
Von Rosenberg and Warren McLendon each finished with 12 points for the Hawks.
