DENVER (AP) -Adam Tanner scored 14 points and Nate Rohnert added 13, leading the Denver Pioneers to a 54-40 win over Arkansas-Little Rock on Sunday.

However, the win may have proved costly. Senior forward David Kummer left the game midway through the second half with what Denver coach Joe Scott said was a broken right leg.

Denver (7-9, 3-2 Sun Belt) improved to 6-1 lifetime against the Trojans at Magness Arena.

It was the fewest points the Trojans (11-5, 3-2) have scored all season. The previous low came in a 59-55 loss to Northern Illinois on Dec. 29.

Denver was up 43-26 with 8:35 remaining when a UALR player rolled over the top of Kummer's leg on a loose ball. Kummer was helped off the court and the leg was immobilized in a brace as he sat on the end of the bench.

Kummer finished with seven points in 30 minutes of play. He leads the conference in minutes played, averaging 37 a game.

John Fowler scored nine points and Steven Moore added seven to lead UALR.

With Kummer out, the Trojans cut into the lead, trimming it down to 45-34 on free throws by Lekheythan Malone. However, that would be as close as UALR would get.

The Trojans were confounded by Denver's zone defense, turning the ball over 22 times. The Pioneers switched up their defense on virtually every trip down the floor.

Brandon Patterson returned to the Trojans after missing a game for an undisclosed family matter. He scored two points in 24 minutes.
