EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) -Randal Falker scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out five assists to lead Southern Illinois to an 80-67 victory over Evansville on Tuesday night in the Missouri Valley Conference.

The hot-shooting Salukis (8-9, 3-3 MVC) opened the game with a 22-2 run and never trailed. Southern Illinois shot 77.3 percent in the first half to take a 45-32 lead at the break.

Bryan Mullins and Wesley Clemmons had 14 each for Southern Illinois, which outrebounded Evansville 27-23. Tony Boyle finished with 10.

The Salukis outscored Evansville 19-9 off the bench and shot 9-of-17 from 3-point range.

Evansville (5-11, 0-6) had 19 points off free throws but shot 48.9 percent from the field, including 41.4 percent before the half. The Salukis got 17 points from the free-throw line.

Shy Ely had 21 points to lead the Purple Aces. Pieter van Tongeren had 16 and Jason Holsinger 10.
