LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) -David Dees posted 20 points as Louisiana-Lafayette snapped a two-game losing streak with a 67-59 win over Utah Valley State on Tuesday.
Dees, a senior guard, led all scorers on 6-of-11 shooting in 28 minutes. Elijah Millsap chipped in 16 points and Courtney Wallace added 14 for Louisiana-Lafayette (8-9).
Utah Valley (6-13), which lost for the fourth straight time, was paced by Josh Olsen who scored 13 points. Brett Ravenberg and Jordan Brady each added 10 for the Wolverines.
Louisiana-Lafayette led 33-24 at the half, but the lead quickly dissipated as Utah Valley pulled to within three, 33-30, before La'Ryan Gary converted a 3-point play to push the Ragin' Cajuns' lead back to six, 36-30.
A 13-2 run gave the Wolverines a 45-42 advantage with 10:15 remaining in the second half. At the 7:18 mark, a basket by Wallace tied the score at 47.
With 4:59 left in the game, Louisiana-Lafayette took the lead, 55-53, when Millsap buried a three-pointer. Dees later sealed the victory for the Cajuns sinking a 22-footer to give Louisiana-Lafayette a 65-57 lead with 40 seconds remaining.
