MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) -Kenneth Faried scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Morehead State beat Samford 62-46 Thursday night.
Morehead jumped out to an 18-4 lead, though Samford rallied in the second half.
Samford drew to within 32-31 on a Travis Peterson basket with 14:20 remaining, but the Eagles (7-9, 5-4) went on a 13-3 run to take a 45-34 lead with 10:39 left.
Nikola Stojakovic scored all of his 10 points during the run.
The closest the Bulldogs (7-10, 4-5) would get was 45-39 for the rest of the game.
Joe Ross Merritt topped Samford with 12 while Trey Montgomery had 10.
Morehead State hit 54 percent (27 of 50) from the field, including 72 percent (13 of 18) in the second half. Samford hit 41 percent (15 of 36) from the field.
The Eagles scored 24 points off Samford's 16 turnovers.
