RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) -Adam Leonard scored 19 points to lead Eastern Kentucky to a 71-55 win over Jacksonville State on Thursday night.

The Colonels (8-9, 5-4 Ohio Valley Conference) connected on nine 3-pointers, including three by Leonard.

Mike Rose followed Leonard with a double-double, scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Gamecocks (4-13 2-6) led 12-11 with 7:50 remaining in the first half as both teams fought through six lead changes and three ties.

But the Colonels scored 18 unanswered points and outscored Jacksonville 23-2 during the rest of the half to put the game out of reach.

Rose scored 12 points in the opening half as the Colonels overcame an early shooting slump, connecting on just two of their first 11 shots.

Nick Murphy led Jacksonville with 21 points. Murphy tallied 16 of those in the second half.
