BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -Dane Brumagin scored 20 points and Missouri-Kansas City came back from a halftime deficit to beat South Dakota State 64-58 in a men's Summit League basketball game on Thursday.
UMKC (7-12, 2-4) trailed most of the first half after making the opening basket. It also trailed until midway through the second half.
The Jackrabbits (6-12, 1-6) shot 48 percent in the first half to take a 34-31 at halftime. They stretched it to six points on a 3-pointer by Kai Williams with 18:32 left in the game. It was SDSU's largest lead of the game.
UMKC came back and took the lead on Kenny Simms' layup with 10:37 remaining. The lead then went back and forth until Garrett Callahan, who finished with 16 points, tied the game for the last time at 47-47 with 8:16 left.
The Kangaroos went 9-for-10 from the free throw line down the stretch to hold off SDSU.
Tim Blackwell added 13 points for UMKC, which shot only 38 percent from the field.
Anthony Cordova and Ben Beran scored 10 points apiece for SDSU, which shot 47 percent.
