CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) -Trey Gilder scored 17 points to help Northwestern State break a seven-game road losing streak and defeat Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 67-58 Thursday night.
Devin White scored 13 points and Colby Bargeman added 10 for the Demons (7-10, 3-0 Southland Conference).
Justin Reynolds led Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with 20 points. Demond Watt scored 12 and Tim Green added 10 for the Islanders (3-12, 0-2).
Northwestern State led 28-26 at halftime, and kept the lead throughout the second half. A 3-pointer by Reynolds with 3:45 left cut the Demons' lead to 59-53, but the Islanders did not score a bucket the rest of the game.
The Demons shot nearly 47 percent from the field, and outrebounded the Islanders 67-58.
The Islanders only connected on 2 of 11 3-pointers in the second half, and shot only 32 percent from the field for the game.
