SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) -Brent Benson scored 20 points - including 9 of 10 free throws - to help Texas State come from behind to defeat Nicholls State 93-84 on Saturday.

Brent Holder scored 15 points, Matt Fullenwider added 14 and Brandon Bush scored 11 to lead Texas State (9-8, 2-2 Southland), which trailed 45-40 at halftime.

Anatoly Bose scored 16 points for Nicholls State (6-13, 1-3). Dominic Friend had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan Bathie had 13, Gil Verner had 12 and Justin Payne scored 11 for the Colonels.

Nicholls State shot nearly 60 percent in the first half, then cooled off to just over 36 percent during the second half.

The Bobcats outscored the Colonels 53-39 after halftime.
