FARGO, N.D. (AP) -Ben Woodside scored 28 points and Brett Winkelman added 21 as North Dakota State held off Missouri-Kansas City 90-82 Saturday in the Summit League.

Woodside was 16-for-19 from the free throw line for the Bison (10-9, 4-4). Winkelman was 7-for-8, and as a team, NDSU made 29 of 35 foul shots.

Winkelman also had nine rebounds.

NDSU shot 48 percent and UMKC (7-13, 2-5) struggled at 37 percent as the Bison took a 43-29 halftime lead.

NDSU jumped out to a 9-0 lead and stretched it 20 points twice in the first half. With 15:03 left to play in the game, the Bison took their biggest lead at 59-37.

UMKC went on a 12-0 run to get within 64-56 with 7:12 remaining. But Mike Nelson, who scored 19 points, stopped the run with a 3-pointer and NDSU never let the Kangaroos get closer than six points down the stretch.

The Bison shot 60 percent in the second half and finished the game at 52 percent. UMKC shot 46 percent.

Dane Brumagin had 23 points and six rebounds for UMKC. Tim Blackwell had 18 points and Kenny Simms added 13.
