KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) -David Kool scored 18 points and Joe Reitz had 17, leading Western Michigan to a 72-52 Mid American victory over Central Michigan on Tuesday night.

Reitz also had a game-high nine rebounds for the Broncos (10-8, 4-1), who defeated the Chippewas (7-10, 2-3) for the seventh time in nine games.

Marko Spica came off the bench to lead Central Michigan with 10 points. Giordan Watson, whose 17.1 points-per-game average ranked second in the conference, was held to seven points and was the only Central Michigan player to score three baskets.

The Chippewas hit a season-low 26.8 percent (15-of-56) of its shots, en route to losing its fifth straight road game. Western Michigan converted 28-of-32 free throws.

The Broncos put the game away early with aggressive defense. The Chippewas missed 15 of their first 16 shots and went scoreless for more than eight minutes in the first half.

The Broncos expanded their lead to 23 points in the second half.

The Chippewas were outrebounded, 38-32.
