DEKALB, Ill. (AP) -Shaun Logan had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead Northern Illinois to a 60-58 win over Ball State on Tuesday night.

Egan Grafel's layup and free-throw with 20 seconds left secured the game for Northern Illinois (5-12, 2-3 Mid-American). Jarvis Nichols added 13 points, including three 3-pointers, and Grafel had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Huskies.

Northern Illinois led by as much as 18 in the first half and 32-23 at the break.

Ball State (3-14, 2-3), which played four games in nine days, climbed back into the contest with a 16-3 run over eight minutes in the second half. Northern Illinois's shooters went cold, going 6-for-20, or 30 percent, after the break.

Anthony Newell, who recently returned from a left foot injury, had a game-high 24 points for the Cardinals. Peyton Stovall added 11 points.
