OREM, Utah (AP) -Ryan Toolson scored a game-high 24 points in leading Utah Valley State to a 68-52 win over North Carolina Central on Tuesday night.
The Wolverines (8-13) used a 23-2 run to start the game and never gave up the lead.
Toolson shot 9-from-16 from the field. Jordan Brady made 6-of-8 in scoring 14 points and had nine rebounds for Utah Valley State.
Phillip Branch led the Eagles (1-23) with 15 points. North Carolina Central struggled from the field, shooting 34 percent for the game. Charles Futrell added 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Eagles.
After the sluggish start, the Eagles fought back with an 8-0 run to cut Utah Valley State's lead to 13 points. But Utah Valley State led 36-21 at halftime.
