HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) -Marc Egerson scored on a driving layup off an inbounds play, was fouled and made the winning free throw with 0.5 seconds to play Wednesday night as Delaware rallied from 10 points down to beat James Madison 66-65.
The Blue Hens (9-9, 6-2 Colonial Athletic Association) trailed 57-47 with 6:51 to play before inching their way back. They had a chance to tie with 2.4 seconds left when Herb Courtney was fouled on a 3-point, but he missed the last two free throws.
On the third, the ball was knocked out of bounds by James Madison in the scramble for the rebound, and Brian Johnson fed Egerson for the basket off the inbounds play.
James Madison (10-8, 3-5), which got 20 points from Abdulai Jailoh and 14 from Terrence Carter, tried a length of the court pass at the buzzer but came up empty.
Courtney led Delaware with 22 points, Egerson had 15 and Alphonso Dawson 14.
