MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -Bruce Carter and Tyler Holloway scored 21 points each to lead Murray State to an 81-67 win over Tennessee Tech on Thursday night.
Danero Thomas added 11 points for the Racers (9-10, 7-3 Ohio Valley Conference), who collected their sixth consecutive win.
Daniel Northern scored 19 points to pace Tennessee Tech (9-12, 6-5). Anthony Fisher and Frank Davis added 16 apiece for the Golden Eagles, and Amadi McKenzie had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Three minutes into the game, Danero hit a 3-pointer to spark a 15-2 run that gave Murray State a 19-9 lead with 12:41 left in the half, and the Racers led the rest of the way.
The Racers were ahead 42-31 at halftime, but Tennessee Tech pulled within nine on a layup by McKenzie that opened the second half. Holloway then hit four consecutive free throws, and Murray's lead never left double figures after that.
