BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) -Carlos Monroe scored 24 points and Paul Graham made two free throws with 5 seconds left in overtime to give Florida Atlantic a 70-68 victory over Denver on Thursday night.
Graham had 10 points for the Owls (7-13, 3-6 Sun Belt Conference), who won for the third time in four games.
Adam Tanner had 21 points for the Pioneers (8-10, 4-3), while Kyle Lewis added 11.
Joe Jackson made two free throws to pull Denver within 56-53 with 46 seconds remaining in regulation. Sanchez Hughley had a chance to give Florida Atlantic a five-point lead but he missed two free throws and Denver's Xander McNally hit a 3-pointer with 5 seconds remaining to tie the game.
Tanner made two free throws late in the overtime to tie the game at 68. Graham was fouled as he drove to the basket with 5 seconds left and he made both free throws for the 70-68 lead.
Lewis' 3-point attempt at the buzzer went wide right.
