CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -Kevin Bridgewaters shot 20 points to help the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga break Appalachian State's winning streak with a 89-77 win on Saturday.
Chattanooga (13-7, 8-2 Southern) took advantage of points off turnovers and started the second half up by 10 while keeping Appalachian State's shooting to just 39 percent for the night. Before Saturday, the Mountaineers (11-7, 6-3) had seven straight wins and won nine in the last 10 games.
Qavotstaraj Waddell had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Chattanooga and Nicchaeus Doaks added 18 points. The Mocs finished the game shooting 56 percent and led as much as 16 points with 3:31 left in the game.
Donald Sims led Appalachian State with 23 points and Kellen Brand added 17 points. Ryann Abraham and Donte Minter both scored 13 points.
