OXFORD, Ohio (AP) -Tim Pollitz scored 22 points and had nine rebounds to lead Miami of Ohio to a 65-52 win over Eastern Michigan Saturday night.
Miami cruised in the first half to a 43-25 lead, and held on despite being outscored 27-22 in the second period.
Kenny Hayes added 18 points for the RedHawks (8-10, 2-4 Mid-American), and Tyler Dierkers contributed 13.
Miami tied a season low for turnovers with seven, and shot 49 percent from the field.
Carlos Medlock scored 15 points for Eastern Michigan (7-11, 3-3), which also shot well at 51 percent. Justin Dobbins had 12 points for the Eagles, who were hurt by 14 turnovers.
The RedHawks were able to take advantage of their rebounds, outscoring Eastern Michigan 15-6 in second chance points.
