Winthrop 65, Coastal Carolina 43

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) -Charles Corbin and Michael Jenkins scored 15 points apiece to lead Winthrop past Coastal Carolina 65-43 on Saturday night.

Byron Faison added 10 points for the Eagles (13-7, 4-1 Big South), who outrebounded the Chanticleers 38-29, forced 19 turnovers and scored 28 points off those miscues.

Corbin made six of his nine attempts and Jenkins hit three 3-pointers for Winthrop, which shot nearly 44 percent from the field and held Coastal Carolina to just 36.4 percent shooting in winning its fourth straight. The Eagles also have won five of six.

Jack Leasure had 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting and was the only double-figure scorer for the Chanticleers (9-9, 2-3), who have lost two straight and three of four.
