KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -Dane Brumagin scored 29 points as Missouri-Kansas City edged Centenary 76-73 in a Summit League contest Saturday.

The Kangaroos (8-14, 3-6) won for the fifth consecutive time in Kansas City against the Gents (9-12, 3-6), but it was not easy.

UMKC took a 74-73 advantage on a 3-point shot by Tim Blackwell with 2:08 left in the game. Both teams traded possessions without points until Centerary had the ball with 19.4 seconds left in the game.

Justin Glenn tipped in a missed shot, but was called for a foul that nullified the basket. The Kangaroos' Reggie Hamilton then connected on both free throws with nine seconds left in the game.

The Gents' Tyrone Hamilton's 3-point shot with a second left rimmed out and UMKC had the victory.

The Gents had a 68-60 advantage with 5:55 left on a 3-pointer by Chase Adams, but UMKC closed out the game with a 16-5 run for the victory.

In the first half, the Kangaroos looked like they were going to run Centenary off the floor. They led 40-21 with 5:20 left in the first half but Centenary cut the lead to 44-38 at halftime.

Blackwell had 13 points and James Humphrey and Reggie Hamilton 10 each for UMKC.

The Kangaroos were 25-of-49 from the floor for 51 percent and 16-of-22 at the free throw line for 73 percent.

Lance Hill paced the Gents with 22 points. Nick Stallings had 18 and Tyrone Hamilton 12.
