HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) -Mark Porter scored 19 points and had six assists as Wagner held off a late Fairleigh Dickinson rally and beat the Knights 71-67 on Sunday night.

Durell Vinson finished with 18 points and 20 rebounds for the Seahawks (14-5, 7-1 in Northeast Conference), while Jamal Smith and James Ulrich each had 10 points. Sean Baptiste scored 23 points to lead FDU (6-12, 2-6), while Eric Hazard had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Bernell Murray and Manny Ubilla each finished with 13 points.

Wagner was in command for most of the game, but the Knights fought back in the second half and eventually cut the Seahawks lead to 67-65 when Ubilla hit two free throws with 41 seconds left.

FDU then had a chance to take the lead on Hazard's 3-point try with 19 seconds left, but the ball rattled around the rim and fell out. Porter was fouled seconds later and made both free throws, but Ubilla hit a jumper with 6.3 seconds left to make it 69-67.

The Knights would not score again, though, and Porter sealed the win by making two more free throws with 5.7 seconds left.
