AMHERST, N.Y. (AP) -David Kool scored a career-high 35 points as Western Michigan beat Buffalo 100-90 in double overtime Tuesday night.
Western Michigan (11-9, 5-2 Mid-American Conference) took command of the game early in the second overtime, scoring on their first four offensive possessions.
Andre Ricks hit a 3-pointer 24 seconds into the period. Joe Reitz then added back-to-back field goals and hit a pair of free throws to give the Broncos a 93-86 lead with 2:13 left.
Buffalo (6-13, 0-7 MAC) led 74-70 with 42 seconds left in regulation. But Reitz closed the gap with a field goal, and after a jump ball tie-up gave the Broncos possession again, Kool made a pair of free throws with 17 seconds left to send the game to overtime.
Kool finished 9-19 from the field and 14-14 from the free throw line, scoring 15 points in overtime and all 10 Broncos points in the first overtime.
Reitz finished with 29 points, shooting 8-12 from the field. Rodney Pierce, who missed a potential game-winning shot in the final seconds of the first overtime, led Buffalo with 23 points.
Andy Robinson had 22 for the Bulls, who have lost eight straight.
