CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Reserve Wes Channels scored 29 points, including four free throws late in overtime, to lift Austin Peay past Murray State 92-87 for the lead in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Channels also made a 3-pointer with 40 seconds left in overtime for the Governors (14-9, 10-3 OVC). His 2-pointer with 17 seconds left in regulation made it 76-76, forcing overtime.
He made two free throws with 8 seconds left and two more with 3 seconds left.
Murray (13-8, 9-4) had won eight straight entering the game.
Drake Reed added 19 points for Austin Peay, Fernandez Locket had 12, Todd Babington 11 and Derek Wright 10.
Tyler Holloway led Murray with 26 points, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range. Teammate Tony Easley had 18 points, Bruce Carter 14, Danero Thomas 13 and Ray George 12.
The Governors had a big advantage at the free throw line, making 22-of-30 to 8-of-14 by Murray.
