LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) -Desmond Yates scored 17 points and added 11 rebounds to lead Middle Tennessee to a 57-51 win over Louisiana-Lafayette in a Sun Belt Conference game Thursday night.
It was Middle Tennessee's first win in Lafayette in 49 years.
Louisiana-Lafayette (9-12, 5-5) led by as many as 11 points in the first half, but went cold, ending the game with just 17-of-48 shooting from the floor and 4-of-18 3-pointers.
Nigel Johnson added 16 points and eight rebounds for Middle Tennessee (9-11, 6-4), while Demetrius Green scored 11 points.
Middle Tennessee led 36-31 at halftime.
The Blue Raiders last won in Lafayette on Jan. 25, 1959.
