JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -Kevin Tiggs had 26 points and 12 rebounds to lift East Tennessee State to an 85-79 win over Mercer on Friday night.
After watching a nine-point lead dwindle to one, Buccaneers (12-9, 6-2 Atlantic Sun) senior Andrew Reed hit a 3-pointer with 1:38 left to help outlast Mercer.
James Florence led the Bears (9-12, 4-4) with 20 points, and Shaddean Aaron added 17 points.
Kenyona Swader was 8-for-13 shooting, scoring 22 points and grabbing 9 rebounds for East Tennessee State, which forced 16 turnovers. The win was the fourth straight for the Bucs.
Meanwhile, the Bears shot 41 percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Bucs 49-44.
