WORCESTER (AP) -Tim Clifford scored 16 points and blocked seven shots to lead Holy Cross to a 60-42 win over Lehigh on Saturday.

Holy Cross (11-9, 2-5 Patriot League) held Lehigh to 24 percent shooting from the floor and limited Lehigh's top scorer, Zahir Carrington, to just nine points. Carrington was averaging 16 points per game and was seventh in the Patriot League in scoring coming into the game.

Kyle Cruze added 13 points for Holy Cross, which has won two of its last three after having lost five straight.

Eric Meister had 10 points and nine rebounds for Holy Cross, which never trailed.

Marquis Hall scored 15 points for Lehigh (11-10, 4-3).

Meister scored three consecutive baskets and Clifford added a field goal early in the first half as the Crusaders took a 19-5 lead and led 28-15 at the half.

Lehigh was held to just seven field goals in the second half, but kept it close for a while, cutting the lead to 30-23 early in the second half, then to 35-26 on a basket by Rob Keefer.

But Cruze answered with a 3-pointer to ignite a 9-1 run and put the game away.
