SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -Drew Gibson had 18 points and five assists to lead Wofford to a 75-42 blowout of Southern Conference rival Furman on Saturday.
The Terriers (13-9, 6-6 SoCon) jumped out to a 13-0 lead and never trailed as they held the Paladins scoreless for the first five and a half minutes of play.
Furman (4-18, 3-10) shot a paltry 24 percent from the field, including going 0-9 from long range, in the first half. Alex Opacic led the Paladins with 11 points and five rebounds.
Wofford led 37-17 at the half and started the second half with a 7-0 run to extend the lead. The Terriers would lead by as many as 36 when Matt Estep hit a 3-pointer with 6:12 left in the game to put Wofford up 73-37.
Wofford also got 13 points from Shane Nichols and 11 from Corey Godzinski.
