RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) -Four players scored in double digits, led by Jalonni Diggs with 16 points, to lift UC Riverside to a 62-58 win over Cal Poly on Saturday.

The Highlanders (5-15, 2-7 conference) ended a three-game losing streak thanks to aggressive defense, well-balanced scoring and outrebounding Cal Poly (8-12, 3-5).

Larry Cunningham and Severin Gates tallied 12 points each, while Cleavon Barlow grabbed another 10, including what proved to be the game-sealing slam dunk to give the Highlanders a 50-44 lead with just under two minutes remaining.

In the first half, the Highlanders banked off solid outside shooting and a sizable rebounding advantage to take a double-digit lead into halftime. The Mustangs opened the second half with an 11-5 run and held the Highlanders without a field goal for the first 6:33, but Riverside's scrappy defense and ability to make its free throws kept the Mustangs at bay.

Cal Poly was paced by Chaz Thomas who had a game-high 19 points.

The Highlanders outrebounded the Mustangs 41-27.
