MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -Kevin Thomas led Murray State with 23 points as the Racers beat Jacksonville State 95-85 on Saturday night.

The Racers (14-8 overall, 10-4 Ohio Valley Conference) jumped out to an early lead thanks to a 20-4 run midway through the first half to take a 21-point lead with 3:26 left in the half. The Gamecocks responded with an 11-2 run to close the first half down 12 points.

Marvin Williams had the game's only double-double coming off the bench, with 13 points and 11 rebounds, Tony Easley scored 14 points, Bruce Carter had 13 points and Tyler Holloway added 12.

Nick Murphy led the Gamecocks (4-19, 2-13 OVC) with 26 points. J.J. Wesley had 20 points, Will Ginn scored 14 points and Jonathan Toles chipped in 12.
