DAVIS, Calif. (AP) -Steffan Johnson scored 16 points and Anthony Brown added 12 more as Pacific outlasted UC Davis 72-67 on Saturday night.
Pacific (15-6, 6-2 Big West) dominated the game statistically, outrebounding the Aggies 37-22 and shooting 75 percent from the field in the second half.
Even with those numbers, the Tigers 44-43 trailed on David Carter's 4-point play with 12:18 remaining in the game. Michael Kirby responded with back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Tigers the lead for good and start a 12-2 run.
Carter led UC Davis (8-13, 2-6) with 17 points. Stockton-native Mark Payne scored 14 against his hometown team.
Pacific has won the last 42 meetings in this series, a streak that extends back to the 1939-40 season.
