CHENEY, Wash. (AP) -Jordan Hasquet scored four of his 15 points in the final minute and Montana held off Eastern Washington for a 59-57 victory on Sunday.
Ryan Staudacher added 14 points and Ceylon Elgin-Taylor 12 for the Grizzlies (10-12 overall, 4-5 Big Sky).
Kellen Williams scored 21 points and, Brandon Moore had 14 points and 13 rebounds for Eagles (8-16, 3-7), who lost their fourth straight and eighth of their last 10 games.
Moore's jump hook pulled Eastern Washington to within 55-53 with 1:18 left. Then Hasquet answered inside for Montana, pushing the Grizzlies' lead to 57-53 with 48 seconds left.
Eastern Washington missed a shot, and Hasquet hit a pair of foul shots to push the Montana lead to 59-53 with 26.8 seconds on the clock.
Williams hit a pair of free throws with 16.4 seconds left to cut the Eagles' deficit to 59-55. Montana missed on the front end of a 1-and-1, then Gary Gibson scored on a driving layup with 7.6 seconds to go to pull the Eagles to within 59-57.
Another miss on the front end of a 1-and-1 gave Eastern Washington the ball with 5.9 seconds left, but the Eagles couldn't get a final shot off.
In a game that featured 12 lead changes and seven ties, it looked like Montana might run away from Eastern Washington early, taking to a 20-12 lead on Kyle Sharp's jumper with 11 minutes remaining.
But the Eagles battled back, taking its first lead, 26-24 on Moore's inside move with 1:45 left in the first half.
