DEKALB, Ill. (AP) -Andy Robinson scored a career-high 35 points to lead Buffalo to a 89-81 victory over Northern Illinois on Tuesday night.

The junior guard also set a career mark with eight 3-pointers as Buffalo (7-14, 1-8 Mid-American) won for the first time in 2008. He hit three during a 15-0 run early in the first half as Buffalo opened up a 17-8 lead.

The Bulls never trailed again. Robinson had 22 by halftime as Buffalo claimed a 46-35 lead at the break.

After trailing 82-57 with just under eight minutes to play, Northern Illinois (5-16, 2-7) made a late run to trim the final deficit.

The Huskies committed 29 turnovers that Buffalo converted into 37 points.

Northern Illinois, paced by a career-high 22 points from junior guard Jarvis Nichols, has lost four straight and six of of its last seven.

Buffalo sophomore forward Max Boudreau added 14 points, guard Calvin Betts had 11 and guards Byron Mulkey and Sean Smiley each added 10 points.
