BOONE, N.C. (AP) -Andrew Goudelock scored 19 points and the College of Charleston beat Appalachian State 68-63 on Thursday night to knock the Mountaineers from first place in the Southern Conference's North Division.
Tony White Jr. added 16 points for the Cougars (11-12, 6-7), who rallied from a late five-point deficit by scoring the final 10 points of the game.
Appalachian State led 63-58 on Ryann Abraham's 3-pointer with 2:50 remaining, but the Cougars rallied with Goudelock's jumper with 25 seconds left putting the College of Charleston ahead to stay. White scored six points during that burst, making four free throws and hitting a jumper.
Donte Minter finished with 17 points and Donald Sims added 13 on 4-of-13 shooting for the Mountaineers (14-8, 9-4), who had their two-game winning streak snapped. The loss, coupled with Chattanooga's victory against Furman, moved the Mocs into the division lead, a half-game ahead of Appalachian State.
Jeremy Clayton added 11 rebounds for the Mountaineers.
Charleston shot 42 percent and held Appalachian State to 36.9 shooting in splitting the season series with both visitors winning on the road.
