BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -George Hill scored 23 points and IUPUI shot 52 percent from the field to hand South Dakota State its fourth straight loss, 70-56 Thursday in the Summit League.
Hill was good on eight of 12 shots. He made both of his 3-point attempts and was 5-for-7 from the line for the Jaguars (18-5, 10-2), who are in second place in the Summit League.
Jon Avery was 6-for-10 and finished with 13 points. Gary Patterson and Austin Montgomery had 11 points apiece.
IUPUI was 26-for-50 from the floor. The Jaguars also outrebounded SDSU 30-24.
The Jackrabbits (7-16, 2-10) struggled all game from the floor. They shot just 31 percent in the first half, yet managed to stay within 26-24 at the break.
But any chance SDSU had in the second half disappeared when the Jaguars shot 63 percent and went 10-for-11 from the line.
Kai Williams and Clint Sargent shared game-high scoring honors for SDSU with 13 points each. Ben Beran and Michael Loney had 11 points apiece.
