LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) -Jason Thompson scored 18 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Rider past Niagara 80-76 on Friday night.
Thompson's brother, Ryan, added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Broncs (18-6, 11-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), while Harris Mansell had 16 points and Mike Ringgold finished with 14. Charron Fisher had a game-high 30 points and 11 rebounds for Niagara (14-8, 8-5), while Tyrone Lewis added 26 points and Stanley Hodge finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Rider, which won its 10th straight, broke open a close game midway through the second half. Leading 57-56, the Broncs used an 11-3 run to take a 68-59 lead with five minutes remaining.
Niagara fought back to cut the lead to 71-69 with two minutes left, but the Purple Eagles would not get any closer. Mansell sealed the win by hitting two free throws with 1.6 seconds remaining.
